In a world growing increasingly hostile to the LGBTQIA+ community, open conversations are more vital than ever.
In a bold artistic statement, a group of Scottish LGBTQIA+ artists were commissioned to create ‘faux taxidermy’ unicorn head artworks. These pieces symbolise the ongoing persecution and challenges faced by the queer community today.
Our amazing panel of artists, Kathryn Hanna (she/her), Ciaran Cannon (he/him), David Hutchison (he/him), Alex Hayward (he/him), and Drew Taylor-Wilson (they/them) and Kirsty Pickering (they/them) also known as GainAgain, will delve into the process and concept behind their Hunting The Unicorn commissions, which are currently on display on the top floor of the museum. They will discuss the inspiration behind their work and the powerful messages they aim to convey through their art.
