PBO shortlisted for Scottish Charity Awards!
Perthshire Box Office shortlisted for this year’s Scottish Charity Awards.
Perthshire Box Office has been recognised as a finalist in the Digital Difference category in the Scottish Charity Awards and are encouraging the people of Perthshire to vote for them!
Set up in 2023 by Perth Theatre and Concert Hall with support from Perth & Kinross Council, Perthshire Box Office is a one-stop shop for all forms of event booking and promotion for local cultural, leisure and tourism organisations who don’t have the resources to operate their own systems. Offering an in person, phone and online booking service for partner organisations and their customers, Perthshire Box Office is a more cost effective and accessible service than online-only options, addressing many of the challenges specific to the region including digital exclusion, rurality and restricted public transport.
Chair of the BOOKMARK Blairgowrie Book Festival, Gail Wylie, an original pilot partner for the project who has supported it from the start said:
“Bookmark Book Festival, Blairgowrie, is delighted to be involved with Perthshire Box Office. Not only have our ticket sales increased, but the publicity that PBO gives us has added to our reputation and heightened our profile. Their support of Bookmark, a volunteer-run organisation and charity, has been invaluable.”
Kira Scott, Project Manager for Perthshire Box Office said:
“The project has gone from strength to strength, progressing rapidly from pilot stage in summer 2023 to the full website and Ticket Office launch in January 2024. All of our original partners are still on board, and we are continuing to launch more collaborations and add to the benefits we can offer including dedicated digital Marketing campaigns, data analysis and online access through the library network. As the exclusive ticketing platform for the new Perth Museum and the Stone of Destiny, our profile has had a real boost, generating a surge of interest and enquiries. Winning this award would be a reward for all the organisations and their customers who have supported and encouraged us along the way – we’d love everyone to consider voting for us!”
Run annually by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), the Scottish Charity Awards celebrate the best of Scotland’s voluntary sector.
This year’s shortlist includes 39 individuals and organisations from charities and voluntary groups across the country following a record-breaking number of nominations. While a judging panel will determine the winners under ten distinct categories, members of the public can have their say by voting for their favourite overall entry in the People’s Choice Award – by visiting Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (scvo.scot) - before 17:00 on Friday 24 May 2024.
The 2024 Scottish Charity Awards winners will be announced at a celebratory awards ceremony in Glasgow on 20 June 2024 - hosted by broadcaster Sally Magnusson.
Anna Fowlie, chief executive of SCVO, said:
“Our 39 finalists demonstrate just how essential the voluntary sector is to Scottish society, with dedicated organisations and individuals going above and beyond to make a positive and often life-changing impact in their communities. Everyone at SCVO is looking forward to shining a light on their essential contributions at our awards ceremony in June.
“The public has the chance to celebrate each of our finalists through the People’s Choice vote, so don’t miss your opportunity to get involved and get behind your favourite finalist by voting now!”
